Kerrigan said a lot of people who visit the water park don’t know about the resort so the owners feel they have an untapped market to grow. The resort also offers such outdoor activities as tennis and fishing.Ĭountry Place has 21 rooms and employs about 27 people. He said people visiting Zoom Flume can go to the resort for lunch by crossing the bridge, and people staying at the resort will be given passes to the water park.Ĭountry Place offers overnight, weekend and weeklong packages, all of which include breakfast, dinner and admission to the water park, he said. The owners hope the new bridge will bring more business to the Country Place Resort, Kerrigan said. He said the cable bridge had become wobbly since it was built approximately 20 years ago and that it will be gone by the time the park opens for the summer in June. ![]() “We felt that we needed something more inviting that people wouldn’t be afraid to cross,” Kerrigan said of the new bridge. He said the steel bridge would replace the current cable bridge that the park has outgrown. In the summer, when the park is fully operational, it employs about 125 people and can draw as many as 1,500 people a day.ĮD KERRIGAN, co-manager of the park, said a new bridge across the Zoom Flume canyon is being built to connect it with the Country Place Resort, which also is owned by the two families.
